Are you looking for the Keurig with largest cup size? Are you wondering why there are so many Keurig cup sizes?
Contents
The typical Keurig coffee makers have at least 3 cup sizes , normally 6, 8 and 10 ounces. If you are buying your first Keurig coffee maker, you may wonder what does all these different cup sizes actually mean.
Why do Keurig Coffee Makers have different cup sizes?
The different cup sizes are a great option for those who like to drink different volumes of coffee from time to time.
Vary coffee strength with cup size
Another use of the different cup sizes is to vary the coffee strength. For the same K-cup, when you select the different brew cup sizes on your Keurig machine, you get anything from a watered down coffee to a very strong coffee. So if you want less watered down coffee, choose a smaller cup size. The smallest cup size available is 4 ounces.
But of course, this is not the real way to get a really strong coffee. But it’s a way to adjust coffee strength for those Keurigs without the stronger brew option.
Go for Strong brew option
Some Keurig models have the strong brew option, which works by slowing the flow of water through the coffee grounds. This allows better extraction of the compounds inside the coffee. The result is a stronger brewed coffee.
What is the Largest K-cup size?
Keurig coffee makers may have different cup sizes. But this doesn’t mean the K-pod has different sizes. All K-pod has exactly the same size. However, the amount of ground coffee may vary depending on the brand you get. This varies from 9 to 12 grams.
And that’s for K-Pods.
Introducing larger K-Cups – K-Mug and K-carafe
However, there is a demand for a larger cup of coffee. And Keurig introduces the larger K-Mug pods, and K-Carafe pods. K-Mug pods can brew 12, 14 and 16 ounces of coffee, enough to fill a large mug. K-carafe pods can make 30 ounces of coffee, enough for 4 persons.
However, K-Mug has been discontinued.
Keurig Reusable Filter
Taking over its shoes is Keurig’s K-Cup reusable filter. This filter has 2 fill lines, one for K-cup and another travel mug brew sizes. But you have to fill it up with ground coffee. So you have to deal with messy coffee. A good thing is that this Keurig reusable filter is dishwasher safe and of course BPA-free.
