So who is Keurig K-Compact suitable for?
If you happens to have space constraints, K-Compact would be ideal for you. K-Compact is a small Keurig coffee maker. It can easily fit into tight kitchen counter spaces. It is also great for placing on your desk in your dorm.
What I like about Keurig K-Compact Single Serve Coffee Maker?
1. Slim and Compact Design
The first thing I like about Keurig K-Compact is its compact design. Its width is only 8 inches. And it measures 12.5 inches high and 13.2 inches deep. This makes it easy for me to place it on my desk.
It is also light at just 6.9 pounds. With its compact size and light weight, it is easy to pack this coffee maker with me on my travels. Yes, I can’t do without my coffee maker.
2. Fast brewing time under 1 minute
One thing I hate is to wait too long for my coffee especially in the morning. And I’m really glad that this coffee maker can brew coffee in just 1 minute.
Also it comes with the smart start feature. So I don’t have to wait for the water to heat up before I select my brew cup size. It will heat up and start brewing in 1 single process. So I can just hit the brew button and let it do its thing while I do my other tasks first.

Potential Shortcomings of Keurig Compact Coffee Maker
Not ideal for placing under Cabinet
Water tank is accessed from the rear. Not ideal for putting it under the cabinet unless you want to constantly move the coffee maker in and out.
Small water tank
The water tank can only hold up to 36 ounces of coffee. Although it can make you several cups of coffee before a need to refill, it could be a hassle if you are entertaining guests. This is a trade-off for a more compact Keurig.
Only able to make up to 10 ounces
The maximum brew cup size for K-pod is 12 ounces. So this is not a Keurig with largest cup size. If you like more coffee, you have to make a 2 separate 6 cup brews.
No Strong bold option
K-Compact doesn’t have a strong bold option. The only way to make a strong brew is by reducing the brew sizes to 6 ounces. But this mean you have lesser coffee.
But the better way to have strong brew is by slowing the flow of hot water through the coffee grounds. If you want a strong brew and a compact Keurig, consider Keurig K-Mini plus instead. It comes with a strong brew option.
No Auto Power on
K Compact only has auto-off. If you want auto-on, consider these Keurig with programmable timer instead. However, they are larger in size though.
Does the Keurig K Compact need a water filter?
Water, being one of the two ingredients to a cup of coffee, will make or break the taste of a coffee. Impurities in the water will alter the coffee taste. The best way to prevent that is to use a water filter.
For the Keurig K-compact, you can buy the Keurig Rear Reservoir water filter Starter Kit. This kit has 1 water filter handle and 1 replacement filter. For best results, you should change it every 2 months or every 60 tank refills.
