DeLonghi Dinamica Review [The 5 Things That Impress Me]

I always like to say that we are all united in our pleasure for coffee. All over the world, no matter where you live. However, if the pleasure goes at a global level, we all know that the know-how in preparing coffee and coffee specialities comes first of all from the italian specialists. Coffee is simply their thing. This is why, in order to help you get a clear idea on what to purchase when it comes to a coffee machine, I have reviewed extensively the DeLonghi Dinamica Fully Automatic Coffee and Espresso Machine, as this is the novelty on all the coffee lovers’ lips these days.

DeLonghi Tradition

DeLonghi are the pioneers and the market leaders when we’re talking about coffee technology. So when DeLonghi comes out on the market with something new, I am inclined to expect quality, efficiency and a taste to die for. The new DeLonghi Dinamica model, was launched in the summer of 2019. So I gave it a try, leaving aside as much as possible all preset expectations, however not leaving aside the passion for good coffee.

This is the first and only fully automatic coffee and espresso machine. It features the new DeLonghi TruBrewer Over Ice technology. With an interesting choice of name, Dinamica suggests, obviously, the state of dynamism that will surrender you after consuming coffees brewed with this machine.

I also think that Dinamica stands for the dynamic type of people that this espresso maker is intended for. Dynamic enough that they don’t have the time to spend at a coffee bar, but they still want to enjoy the Italian bar quality, at home, or at the office, while taking care of their dynamic schedule.

This machine will offer you no less than 7 different coffee styles, and a very well developed technological process to deliver them. It looks like DeLonghi put a lot of thought and care into developing this espresso maker, and it pays off. We all got a customized one-touch drinks machine, that allows adjusting the strength of every coffee with 5 settings: from extra-mild to extra-strong.

For energy saving, the machine stops after 20 minutes of non-activity.

 

5 Things I like About the Delonghi Dinamica

1 One Machine, All Versatility

I am truly excited by the number of beverages that I can prepare with Dinamica coffee maker. It heats up in less than 40 second, due to its 15 bar high performance pump. Then it starts brewing with its bean to cup brewing system and a versatile technologically improved built-in steel burr grinder. This burr grinder has 13 setting options for a complete grind of whole beans. You will choose whatever coffee type and quality you like. Anyway, most likely you will be so curious that you will simply try as much as possible on the market, just like I did. From light, to medium and strong, different coffee bean tastes and proveniences. And probably you will never stop from trying them out.

Here are all the fresh coffees you can get from this machine: Iced Coffee, Iced Latte, Long Espresso, Espresso, Double Espresso, Cappucino, Latte, Drip Style Coffee, but also flavoured hot milk, tea, flat white.

The machine is provided with adjustable ducts so you can fit big cups or small cups. There is also the option to program every drink size as you wish, and this is valid for all the coffee types that I have presented above. It is incredibly versatile regarding the coffee variation but as well as regarding your own preffered coffee style. Each time you will receive in your cup the exactly wished beverage, of the moment.

 

2 Iced Coffees

Just imagine an iced coffee made at your very own home, which is not watered down. Dinamica was fitted with the first and only fully automatic iced coffee function, called TruBrew Over Ice technology. The TruBrew specific system delivers smooth, full-bodied iced coffee, which is brewed at a lower temperature. It starts a proprietary pre-infusion and infusion brewing process that results in an uniquely fresh coffee over ice.

DeLonghi Dinamica Automatic Coffee and Espresso Machine comes with an ice-cube tray which, this is a very funny thing, it has the ice-cube shape of a coffee bean. It gives me just an extra pleasure to put in the bean-shaped ice cubes. And you will very much need them, as for each iced coffee you will have to put in the machine at least three of these, to start your Trubrew process. This ice tray is a truly unique feature, when compared to the other machines on the market. It’s not vital, but to me it seems like it pays respect to its customers.

The machine also comes with a descaler, cleaning brush and scraper,a measuring cup, a water filter, for machine’s maintenance, so you can keep the same coffee quality each time.

 

3 Milk Foams

You can choose your favorite milk and the Dinamica Automatic Espresso Machine will froth it in just a few seconds. DeLonghi has developed a special long retractable and manually adjustable wand, that helps creating a tougher big bubble foam, in a very short amount of time. So the coffees like cappuccino, and lattes, get a really special, consistent texture that caresses your tongue and mouth.

You can pour in, all type of milk or milk-like beverages for crafting the foam. However, DeLonghi recommends a cold skim 2% dairy or non-dairy milk (soy, almond, coconut, rice etc.), taken directly from the refrigerator. This is how they guarantee that big bubbled, creamy foam and cappuccino, or latte.

4 Italiano Quality

I can firmly affirm that this is a high-quality barista style coffee, made at any time, in the comfort of my own home. And just imagine that, compared to having your much loved coffee at a bar or coffee shop, preparing it at your place you will let you the pleasure to bathe into the full aroma of the coffee brewing. It generates in one room, caresses your nostrils and then fully conquers the entire space, room by room. It is just like a coffee fragrance device in your home, each day, every day.

You can always expect from all italian products to come with some style. This is true in case of DeLonghi Dinamica. It has its own stylish ”certain something” about the design, but also about the way you get to activate controls and even about the way the coffee pours down from the ducts. The entire Dinamica’s design is very compact and elegant.

You can also choose from two stylish color options: black and silver. However silver is an exclusive color to be found with only some of the retailers. I have also appreciated the fact that the water reservoir is placed laterally, completely visible and see-through. It only adds to the elegant business-like feel.

 

5 Easy to clean.

All its pieces and detachable components are designed with open spaces and easy access to pour in whatever you need, and also to get access and wipe them down or wash them. It has a removable brew unit, water tank, and dishwasher-safe drip tray. It also doesn’t leave any residual coffee in the brewing unit. So there is no need for you to clean these units with chemicals.

It took me only like half of the normal time for a coffee machine, to clean all this up.

 

 

 

Who is this Delonghi Dinamica True Brew for?

Definitely this is a machine for coffee lovers, who like to diversify their drinks. For those who know what a really good coffee is, and to make a difference between bar-style freshly brewed drinks and you’re simple coffee on the run, from an ordinary coffee machine or shop.

This is also for people who enjoy the coffee making process and feeling involved in their own coffee moment, or moments, in a day. But also who understand that being involved in this process means taking care of the machine, so it could always be in the best coffee delivery shape. Because Dinamica requires replacing water in the tank, clean out grounds, empty the drip tray, at regular intervals. I would say that DeLonghi Dinamica is for those who really enjoy a full-coffee experience, however they don’t have time to waste.

Potential Shortcomings Of Delonghi Dinamica Fully Automatic Coffee & Espresso Machine

Is there such a thing as an automatic perfect coffee brewing machine? Well this is not my major dream. The real dream is to get the perfect coffee. Dinamica, of course, it is after all a machine and, as an espresso maker, will not be a pure perfection. Such a thing does not exist. However, it gives me the most amazing coffees, that creates my moods close to perfection most of the time, and my perfect feel of „don’t need anything else on the world” sometimes.

However when the machine is concerned, for a full objective review, I will let you know what shortcomings I have discovered.

Need Time to Familiarise

Amazingly, with all the complex coffee types that Dinamica knows how to prepare best, it is quite not the greatest when you want just a simple cup of coffee. The controls are quite confusing. And it’s not that the coffee does not come out tasty. It does, if you learn how to do it exactly, and how to put the exact amount of beans Otherwise, it will come out as super strong (don’t forget that the Italians are famous for their extra-strong, all-black espresso). The factory settings will make the coffee so strong that it boosts your brains out.

However, after you understand the procedures and the suitable strength for your taste, the simple coffee will come out okay. The procedure is just somehow more complicated than with other coffee makers. But I guess this is just a normal effect, since this machine knows to do so many other super complex coffee brews. Simplicity is out of discussion.

User Manual a bit complex

And this leads me to another semi-issue with this Delonghi espresso maker. The user’s manual is very difficult to read, to understand, to make a general sense out of it, and to discover the ways to prepare each desired coffee speciality. Partially this is due to the fact that there are no photos, no illustrations or explanatory charts in it. The text continuously makes references to other parts of the manual. So take your time, breath in deeply and be prepared to flip the pages back and forth, several times. At the end, you will uncover this mystery, and finally be ready to brew all coffees according to your taste or different tastes of your family and friends. I got the feeling that reading this manual is like as mini- barista training, which makes sense, since the machine is all barista-like quality and result. It is just normal for you to not get things that easy.

Small water reservoir

Then, there is one more thing that I noticed and I would have quite enjoyed it to be different. The water reservoir is small, or at least small if you want to invite more people to drink coffee together, and prepare for all of them at once. But It is just fine if you brew coffee most of the time for you alone, or for just one more person.

Should I Buy this Delonghi Dinamica ECAM35020B Espresso Machine?

Well, I love this Dinamica coffee machine, because I am in love with all coffee specialities, and brews, and I would drink every day a few. I like to have variation and options. It is a complex automatic machine, that really brings everything that you might ask for from a coffee machine. If you want something simpler, maybe this is too much. However the simple espresso, is still amazing, as I have the possibility to make it strong, as I like it. It is a robust machine, and there are no disappointments for having it. So, if you still don’t know what model to purchase from the wide offer on the market, analyze all Dinamica features. Then, analyze what you really need from your coffee machine. Don’t think just of yourself, think that you can bring with Dinamica a whole lot of benefits to your family and friends, so think also of their coffee customs and maybe even guilty pleasures. Then armed with all this information, I am pretty sure that you will take the best decision.
