Best Combination Coffee And Espresso Makers
Gourmia GCM5100 One Touch Multi Capsule Coffee & Espresso Machine
The first thing you will notice about this guy is how compact it is.
This coffee and espresso combo is definitely on the smaller side in terms of size among coffee makers. Don’t let that fool you though, it will get the job done.
Gourmia GCM5100 is compatible with K-cup and Nespresso capsules, making it unnecessary to own two separate gadgets. It comes with two cartridges, one for K-Cup and the other for Nespresso capsules and that’s how you can use both methods in one machine.
The only real problem you might think of is the use of ground coffee but you can easily overcome that by getting one of those reusable K-cup pods you can empty and refill after each use.

Another feature you will enjoy is that it gives you the choice of temperature and cup size. In other words, you can get a really hot cup of coffee and the person right after you can get a mildly hot cup and the whole process for the two of you would take only a few minutes.
This product is definitely perfect for some. If you find yourself thinking it’s neat, then definitely look further into it. It deserves that much! It would be the perfect product for me if I was still living in my small student apartment.
Luckily for me, I have more counter space nowadays and I do enjoy a bigger, more sci-fi looking coffee maker so I will be showing you some more but before that, I want to list you some of the good and not so good sides of this coffee maker.
Pros
- Compatible with both K-Cups and Nespresso, combining both features in one machine
- Small size, it won’t take much space on your counter
- Temperature selection
- Cup size selection
- You can fit a travel mug if you need to
- Fast brew
- 19 bar extraction system that makes a great espresso
- ETL certified, proving their quality.
Cons
- The unit does not include a milk frother
- It does not give a warning when the water level is down so you might lose time, better to check it before each use
- Changing between the Nespresso and K-cup contraptions may be a hassle for some people
- Some people have reviews reporting difficulty reaching the customer service when needed

DeLonghi BCO430 Combo Espresso and Coffee Maker
This espresso coffee combo can be considered a step up from the previous model. If you ever had a DeLonghi coffee maker, you know it’s a brand you can trust. And consequently, this is a coffee maker you can trust.
You will notice it comes with two parts. One part will give you a perfect serving of espresso, cappuccino, latte or even hot chocolate while the other side will brew delicious coffee up to ten cups at a time.

And the carafe side has a 24-hour timer, meaning you can set it up before bed and have it ready when you wake up. Some might say it’s not really the most necessary feature but I personally just love it when a coffee maker gives me this option. Coffee has become a part of my breakfast over the years, and sometimes it is the only breakfast I have (I know, it’s unhealthy but I’m not a doctor so I will continue) so having this setting is a game changer for me.
Now I mentioned cappuccino but I also need to tell you it comes with the milk frother! How can you claim you are drinking quality cappuccino without frothed milk? Well, you can but you would be lying!
With DeLonghi BCO430 you can offer your guests the perfect cup they desire, and not become a liar in the process. And you know even the pickiest people will be satisfied because it comes with an active carbon filter for the cleanest water possible, there is a difference between tap water and filtered water after all!
Certainly, DeLonghi BCO430 is one of the best coffee cappuccino combo machine!
Pros
- Options for single serve coffee or multiple cups (up to ten cups)
- Included milk frother
- 2-year warranty
- Barista quality coffee
- 24-hour timer so you can have your coffee ready when you wake up (or whenever)
- Comes with a water filter
- Different strength settings
- Easy on the eyes
Cons
- Not compatible with K-cups
- The warranty could have been longer
- Could be a little quieter
- Requires some strength to get the espresso puck out
- Does not keep the espresso for a long time (some models keep your coffee hot up to two hours)
- I can’t really think of anything else, it is overall a good machine
Nespresso VertuoPlus [ Best Espresso and Coffee Maker Combo ]
Back to single serve coffee makers. Nespresso VertuoPlus comes with the obvious mishap of not being able to make multiple cups at once. You can skip this guy if that is a big issue for you. But if you are into great quality coffee and don’t mind making one cup at a time then definitely read further, for this is the best espresso and coffee maker combo.
I first saw this model when I was at Costco. The sales reps were giving information and some samples and I must say I was not really hopeful. I was just looking at this man and thinking “Please just give me free coffee, we both know it’ll be mediocre”.
But I was wrong, it was not mediocre, it was surprisingly tasty. And the sales rep mentioned that day, you can mail your empty Nespresso capsules to a certain address and they will recycle it for you free of charge! Or we can say this fee is included when you first buy the pods, which can also be mailed to your doorstep if you so prefer.
Noticed how I barely mentioned the machine’s features yet somehow it already sounds amazing?

Well, this machine is a game changer for single serve coffee makers in my opinion! So how does it work?
It comes with 12 complimentary Nespresso capsules with your purchase, and every capsule has a corresponding barcode which the machine will read. You will need to add its water, place the capsule, and press the button, and that’s that!
Your Nespresso VertuoPlus will read the barcode and put in place a different method of brewing depending if it’s an espresso, cappuccino or whatever you may have chosen. Just let it do its thing and remove your cup for a perfect cup of coffee every time. You can find detailed information about the capsules on their website. Also, you can choose one of the five cup sizes so you have choices in that aspect as well.
The only thing I can see as a disadvantage is the price of the capsules. It is around a dollar depending on what capsule you have chosen and this might not be for everyone. And that’s not really a criticism about the machine or its performance to be fair. If you can afford it then it’s a no brainer!
Pros
- Literally one touch for a barista quality coffee
- Five different coffee sizes
- Great service when it comes to the capsules
- Large water tank of 60 ounces
Cons
- The price of each capsule
CBTL Single Serve Coffee, Tea and Espresso Maker
This CBTL model is a little out of ordinary in the sense it does not accept K-cups or Nespresso capsules. Instead, it works with CBTL capsules only.
I have tried finding a grocery store that sells these specific capsules where I live but I couldn’t, to be honest. However, this should not be deterrent because it is a really good machine.
You may be asking “Well how am I supposed to use it then?”. You have two options. You can either order the capsules online or just get a refillable stainless steel CBLT capsule so you can just use your own ground coffee.
The second option will work just fine for anyone like me because I still like to grind my own coffee. I am the coffee-obsessed guy who is probably drinking a little too much of it for my own good. So I do try different machines and methods every now and then. And what will not change how enjoyable the smell is when you grind some good quality coffee.
So what can we talk about other than the capsules? It’s a really simple machine to use. You have two settings at the end of a dial and one single button. Move the dial towards the espresso setting for espresso (I know, shocking), or towards the only other setting drip coffee or tea. They called this “The Twin Pressure System” meaning high pressure for espresso and low for tea or coffee.
This model also gives you the option to choose the temperature. You might not know how hot you want your coffee to be when you first get it, so play around and you’ll find that sweet spot for yourself.
It might be good to mention the water reservoir holds up to forty ounces of water which should be enough for up to four cups of coffee. It comes with a one year warranty, which is nice but a lifetime warranty would be better obviously.
Pros
- Heats the water up quickly
- Great tasting espresso
- Quick process overall
- Temperature setting
- The water reservoir is easy to get to (You don’t need to be at a weird angle to fill it)
- It’s at a great price point for its performance
- The water reservoir is removable for an easy cleanup
Cons
- Only compatible with CBLT capsules
- Warranty is good for only one year
Krups XP160050 Espresso Coffee Combo Machine
Now that’s a machine that will make you go “Wow” at first sight. You know the type of coffee maker you see at a rich friend’s house. And it actually is more pricey than the previous coffee makers we have looked at. But if you have the money for it and you want the perfect cup, then it is probably the best choice for you!
For starters, it makes a great cup no matter which side you are using. By that, I mean drip coffee or the espresso side. It just brews a very delicious cup every time!
One thing I noticed immediately was the espresso maker part. Most coffee makers can make one or maybe two cups of espresso at the same time, but here you can go all the way up to four which is a nice touch. I mean what if you have three more friends who want espresso at the same time? It may be not a big deal but definitely a thoughtful addition to the gadget.
Remember how DeLonghi BCO430 could be programmed to make your coffee at whatever time you want? They took that feature and made it better by keeping it hot for up to two hours so when you wake up you have two hours to lay around in bed!
Other than all that, it can make up to ten cups of coffee at the same time on the carafe side. It comes with a measuring spoon which is a small but definitely thoughtful thing to include.
And it has a steamer on the side for frothed milk for cappuccinos (or lattes, I noticed I didn’t mention lattes but that doesn’t mean you can’t prepare one with this beauty).
And it comes with a two-year worldwide warranty. If you have been paying attention, you may have noticed I’m a fan of lifetime warranty but I guess I will give this one a pass simply because of its quality. Now, let’s wrap it up!
Pros
- You can set it to have your coffee at a certain time
- Keeps coffee hot up to two hours
- Capable of making four cups of espresso at once
- Steamer for frothing milk
- Measuring cup included
- Looks beautiful and rich
Cons
- More expensive than other the models
- Warranty is good for only two years
- Some people say customer service is not as good as it used to be
Coffee and Espresso Combination Machine Review: Which should I buy?
I know choosing a coffee maker for yourself can be a tedious process, and I know it can be straight up annoying once you actually use your machine and it’s not what you were expecting.
I tried to give you my opinion of these 5 models which, I hope, has helped you at least a bit in your search. I started drinking coffee with really cheap and objectively bad instant coffee, and I have been fortunate enough to try better coffee brewed with better methods.
In the last ten years, I have gone from instant coffee to actual coffee and that would not happen if I did not open myself to other possibilities. That is exactly what I want from you as well!
I talked about K-cups, Nespresso capsules and CBTL capsules in this article. Any of these options would make think three times before trying back in the day. Nowadays I try way more options and let me tell you if you find one thing you enjoy for every five things you dislike then that’s a win! Go after the win, my friend!
Here, I mentioned some coffee makers which are traditional and some coffee makers on the more original side. I can only suggest you not to take a hard no on something before trying it out. This may be a type of coffee or coffee maker or something completely irrelevant to the topic here. Choose your coffee maker wisely, you may be using it every single day!
