If you have already searched for the Nespresso VertuoPlus on Amazon, you will probably seen the Nespresso VertuoPlus by two different manufacturers, Delonghi and Breville.

So what’s the difference? Basically, at its core, both versions of the VertuoPlus have the same technical specifications. The only difference lie in their exterior design. The VertuoPlus by Breville has a more dome-like top while the VertuoPlus by Delonghi has a more squarish top. That’s all.

4.Save You Time

For most of us, we do not have much time in the morning to make a proper French press before work. For this reason, Nespresso VertuoPlus works wonderfully.

It only requires 20 seconds to preheat after you switch it on. In addition, you don’t have to wait for the preheating to complete. During this time, you can start to slot in the coffee capsule and press the start button. The machine is smart enough to start to making coffee only after the preheating is complete.

There is also no need to standby the coffee maker as the VertuoPlus will stop automatically once the desired drink volume for the capsule is reached.

6. Multiple Drink options

The Nespresso VertuoPlus can make both coffee and espresso via two different capsule sizes. In total, it has 5 different single serve coffee cup sizes:

1. espresso (1.35 ounces.)
2. double espresso (2.7 ounces.)
3. gran lungo (5 ounces.)
4. coffee (7.7 ounces.)
5. alto (14 ounces)

For the Alto and coffee, the large capsule is used. For espresso and lungo, the smaller capsule is used.

To accommodate the various cup sizes, the cup support can be adjusted to 4 positions. If this height clearance is still not sufficient, you can remove the cup support too.

Although the water volume for the various capsule size are preset, you can still have the flexibility to customize the drink volume to your liking and store your preferred drink volume for the capsule in the machine.

Re-programming the water volume is easy. Insert the capsule blend you wish to customize. After closing the head, press and hold on to the start button until your preferred volume is reached. There! You have the new drink volume for the capsule size stored in memory.

If you simply want to have lesser coffee for that particular day, just push the button early to stop the coffee flow. You can also manually top up more coffee by pushing the button again. When your desired volume is reached, push the button again.

7. Easy To Clean

With the VertuoPlus, daily cleanup after use is really easy. The cup support ( also serve as drip tray ) , water tank and used capsule container can be easily detached for cleaning.

VertuoPlus even comes with a function to clean its internal flow circuits automatically when activated. Simply press the buttons 3 times quickly within 2 seconds to activate this function. This will activate the cleaning procedure which will run for 5 minutes. This procedure will pump water in to clean the internal circuit and flow the water out from the coffee outlet. This will take place 3 times.

For the periodic maintenance, it is also easy. There is no need to remember when to do the next descaling. VertuoPlus comes with a descaling alert to prompt you for descaling. Descaling the machine takes about 25 minutes. It is easy to perform the descaling by following the step-by-step instructions in the manual and using the Nespresso descaling solution.

Potential Shortcomings of Nespresso VertuoPlus

Can only use Vertuoline capsules

The VertuoPlus can only brew coffee and espresso after reading instructions from the barcodes on the capsules. That means you can only use capsules from Nespresso and not other vendors. The capsules must also be of Vertuoline types.

The cost of a Vertuoline capsule (about $1.20) is also more expensive than the originalline capsule ($0.80).

 

Nespresso VertuoPlus vs VertuoPlus Deluxe – What’s the difference?

If you have an really large family to serve coffee drinks, you will love the Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe. The difference between the VertuoPlus and VertuoPlus Deluxe is a much large water tank of 60 ounces capacity. Both the Delonghi and Breville versions have the enhanced version.
