The most necessary functions you get with most coffee makers are present in Cuisinart DGB 900BC. However, before I get to those, I want to talk about the function I love the most.

  1. Cuisinart DGB 900BC comes with an inbuilt burr grinder with bean hopper => FRESH Coffee!

As I mentioned before, this unit is more than just a coffee machine. It’s also a coffee grinder! When you look at your coffee maker, you will notice there is a hopper for whole bean coffee.

  1. This system allows you to get the freshest coffee possible every single time.

And it’s a burr grinder! A burr grinder crushes the coffee beans instead of slicing them. This process keeps more of the flavor in the coffee.

And the rest of the beans will be intact for the next time because you only ground the perfect amount! I have seen some coffee makers with this feature but they tend to be around $1000 so it’s definitely amazing to get that for so little.

  1. It can make up to 12 cups of coffee

This grind & brew coffee maker is also capable of making up to twelve cups of coffee. You just need to choose how many cups you want and just the correct amount of coffee beans will be ground.

  1. I can program this coffee maker to start brewing automatically in advance!

The Cuisinart DGB 900BC also has a digital clock. Look at the instructions and set up the time when you first get your device. It is quite simple to do it so I think you will be fine. And once that’s done you can program it to give you fresh coffee whenever you want! You can have a cup ready at 8 am before work for example.

  1. DGB900BC shutdowns automatically

Once your coffee is brewed, the unit will shut itself off automatically. You need not worry though.

  1. Coffee stays hot with this thermal carafe coffee maker for up a long time!

Cuisinart DGB-900BC coffee maker comes with a stainless steel, double insulated thermal carafeThe thermal carafe this device comes with is stainless steel and double insulated. It will keep your coffee hot for up to eight hours!

Let’s assume there are two people in the house and they both drink two cups a day. You can brew four cups in the morning and you are set for the day!

Normally I might have suggested going for a single-serve machine for single people but the fact you get freshly ground coffee every time makes it well worth the money even if you live by yourself and have no one to share a cup with on a regular basis.

  1. I can even sip a cup of coffee before brewing is done

They did not forget the impatient people either! You can sneak a cup of coffee before the cycle is done thanks to the brew-pause function. It is not the most important feature in my opinion but it is well appreciated!

  1. Water gets filtered to remove the odd taste

Your coffee maker comes with a charcoal water filter. Water makes up most of the coffee after all so I suggest changing these water filters frequently but they did send you one to get you started!

  1. Coffee tastes better with the gold coffee filter

There is a gold-tone coffee filter included. You can choose to use paper filters of course but the filter the unit comes with is high quality! There is also a measuring cup included so you are all set!

  1. I get to adjust the brew strength

cusinart Grind & Brew coffee maker - you get to choose brew strengthSo far so good, but I can imagine some of you are wondering about the strength control! No worries! You can choose between three strength levels (mild, medium or strong). Strong might be a good idea if you are planning on adding dairy to your coffee. Or maybe you just like it mild. The good thing is you have control over it!

  1. I can still use pre-ground coffee

This unit does come with a good quality burr grinder but that does not mean you have to purchase whole beans all the time. If you want to use pre-ground coffee for whatever reason, you can simply choose to turn the grinder off and voila! Maybe you have always used pre-ground coffee before. You can use this opportunity to make your transition into whole beans an easier experience. I will take the risk of sounding a little fancy here but if you do decide to get yourself a Cuisinart DGB 900BC, please do make that transition. Having freshly ground coffee is seriously superior to pre-ground coffee and I am sure you won’t go back once you are used to it!

Potential Shortcomings of Cuisinart DGB900bc coffee maker

The only real downside I can talk about for this coffee maker is that there is no single-serve option. You will have to make at least two cups every time. However, this problem is not a big one thanks to the high-quality carafe it comes with. As mentioned before the carafe is double-insulated and stainless steel. It will keep your coffee hot for up to eight hours.
