Are you having problems with your Nespresso machine? In this post, we list the common Nespresso Vertuo troubleshooting issues and how to fix them.
If your Nespresso Vertuo is flashing lights and not working, it could be due to the handle not being locked in place. Nespresso Vertuo machines uses a unique locking mechanism to keep the capsule in place. Capsules can spin at a rate of up to 4000 rpm during the brewing process. The handle must always be fully locked before starting the brewer. This must be done or the button will start to blink orange twice and not be able to start the machine. The handle must move past the lock icon in order to secure it. You should be able to lock the handle by turning it to the left until it stops right at the lock icon.
Vertuo coffee machines feature descaling alerts. These alerts are half red light and half green light, as described in their user manual. However, green lights sometimes appear yellow under certain conditions.
In a properly functioning machine, coffee flows normally. If you see only water flowing, then the machine is filling up with water in response to your request for cleaning, descaling, or emptying. Push the button for three seconds to turn the machine off, then press it again to turn it on. Let the machine cool down for approximately 20 minutes if it has been in running extensively.
If your nespresso machine is not making a full cup of coffee, it could be that the water tank is not positioned properly. In that case, check your water tank to ensure that it is positioned properly.
If your nespresso vertuo next is leaking coffee, chances are that the water tank has not been positioned correctly. In that case, take a look at the water tank to ensure that the tank is correctly positioned.
When you don’t see light on the button on your Nespresso machine, chances are that it has shut down automatically due to the energy saving feature. In that case, press the button to activate the coffee maker. If that does not work, it could require a check on the power mains, power plug, voltage, as well as the fuse to see any of those are not working.
When this occurs, it could be that the handle has not been locked fully. When brewing a Coffee or Espresso, be sure the capsule is inserted properly, that the handle is locked properly and that the button is pressed. If you are emptying, cleaning or descaling the Nespresso machine, check that the capsule is removed before closing, locking, and pushing the start button.
As a result of reading the barcode and pre-wetting the coffee, the coffee flow will take a while before it appears. Check that the capsule is correctly inserted and the handle is locked properly. Then, push the button to begin. Pour water into the tank and press the start button. Press the button down for 3 seconds to turn off the machine, then press the button again to turn it on. Allow your machine approximately 20 minutes to cool off after extensive use.
Nespresso original line machines brew at temperatures of 83-86° while a Vertuo machine brew at temperatures of 78° ± 5°. By doing this, the aromas of the coffee are optimally extracted without burning. Additionally, you will be able to have your cup of coffee immediately. The coffee in Nespresso is meant to be consumed immediately after brewing, so it keeps the coffee at a lower temperature than filter coffee, for instance.
There are a couples of things you can do if the coffee isn’t hot enough. Using hot water, pre-heat the cup as coffee cools quickly in a cold cup. If you use milk, warm the milk before adding it to the coffee since cold milk cools it as well. If you have a Nespresso Aeroccino, you can simply push a button to heat up and foam the milk.
Your brewing temperature may also be affected by the length of time since you descaled the machine. If there’s the case, you can perform descaling on your machine.
In some cases, after a long period of use, the machine’s pressure decreases, which can affect its temperature. You can rebuild the pressure inside your Nespresso Vertuo machine by brewing approximately five lungo cups using only water and without capsules. When the pressure is restored, the machine will be able to heat water properly.
